“AYA” means color & “KOJI” means path, so we hope Ayanokoji can add some color into your life.
AYANOKOJI is a store specializing in kiss lock purses handcrafted by artisans in Kyoto.
We review our materials in line with the times while utilizing traditional techniques, and propose new,
unconventional kiss lock purses by pursuing designs that suit modern lifestyles.
The History of AYANOKOJI
We opened in Kyoto in 2005 as a specialty store for Japanese goods, and reopened in 2010 after renovation as a specialty store for kiss lock purses.
Currently, we operate 13 stores nationwide, including our sister brand AYANOKOJI Sarei.

We handle everything in-house, from product planning to manufacturing and sales, and we always propose new forms of products.
As our brand name shows, we hope to add color to your daily life. We use a wide variety of materials such as canvas, gold brocade, and functional fabrics.
We have a wide range of items using clasps, such as wallets, pouches, cases, and bags.
Shuwa Purse Factory
AYANOKOJI's purses are made in our own workshop, Shuwa Gamaguchi (kiss lock purses) Factory, in Kyoto.
We are skilled in all processes related to the development and manufacturing of bags using clasps, including cutting, die-cutting, sewing, and clasp inserts, and each piece is carefully handcrafted by our craftsmen.
